Developed in Beijing during the Yuan Dynasty. The art of Cloisonne became very popular during the Ming Dynasty around 1450 AD.
Technique consists of a die-struck process combining small glass cells (or cloisons) melted and fused to metal at high temperatures.
Cloisonne's quality is jewelry-like with a very smooth and polished finish.
Cloisonne technique uses AKOI color chart and is considered the highest value technique.
